Unlike other services, we don't require an email address from our
users for purposes of communication and password reset. If you
prefer, you may provide us with a Zcash shielded payment address
instead.
If you need to use your Zcash shielded address for account recovery,
you can then go to our password reset page and you
will be prompted to use your wallet to send an encrypted memo to our
recovery address along with a trivial amount of ZEC. Upon receipt of
this transaction, this ZEC will be returned to you, minus miner fees,
with an encrypted memo containing a one-time-use URL you can use to
reset your password.
About Zcash Incoming Viewing Keys
Unlike other services, we don't require an email address from our
users for purposes of communication and password reset (though
we can use email for that purpose if you provide us with an address.)
Instead, since we require a Zcash incoming viewing key in order
to be able to route payments to you anyway, we prefer to use your
control of the associated Zcash wallet for things like approving
password reset requests.
To obtain a Zcash incoming viewing key for your wallet, at the moment
this unfortunately means you're going to need to install and run
zcashd directly, rather than use an ordinary
consumer-facing wallet as none of them support this feature yet.
Please see the zcashd docs
page for detailed instructions.
